Animorio in Claude Code

One command and Claude Code knows the whole library: it finds the animations you ask for, reads how they work and gives you the code to fit your site. It works in Claude too, on the web, on Mac and on your phone.

In Claude Code

In your terminal, once:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user animorio https://animorio.com/mcp/

With --scope user it is there in all your projects; inside Claude Code, /mcp tells you whether it is connected. Then ask for animations in plain words, as you would a colleague.

In Claude

On the web, on Mac, on PC or on your phone:

  1. Settings
  2. Connectors
  3. Add custom connector

Name it Animorio, paste this address as the URL, and add it:

https://animorio.com/mcp/

Then, in a chat, switch it on from the tools menu. It is a remote MCP server: nothing to install, no account, read-only.

What to ask

Find an Animorio animation for the homepage heading of a restaurant.

Take “The heading that opens” from Animorio and adapt it to my page, with my colours.

Which WebGL animations does Animorio have, and which one works best on phones?

Tell me how the Butter website is made, from the Animorio journal.

The tools

  • search_animationsSearches the library by idea, family (scroll, text, hover, SVG, WebGL…) or technique, and tells for each animation what it does, whether its code is free and where to see it live.
  • get_animationBrings an animation’s full sheet: what it does, how it works step by step, the values to change, phones, reduced motion, the pitfalls and its three code files.
  • list_articlesLists the articles of the “How it’s made” journal, with the sites taken apart and the animations rebuilt from each.
  • get_articleReads a whole article, with links to its demos.

Good to know

  • Code comes for the free animations: for now, they are all free.
  • The connector reads the published library: a new animation reaches it the same day.
  • The connector keeps only an anonymous tally: how many times a day each tool is used, with no IP addresses and no request text.
  • The license applies: use them on your sites and your clients’, do not resell them as they are.
