Personal blog

For a blog or an article site: headlines that arrive as you scroll, a table of contents that follows the reading, recipes, quotes and stories in chapters, reactions, the newsletter, light and dark themes.

104 pieces

Each piece can be watched live, tweaked in the Playground and copied on its own; the zip holds them all, each in its own folder.

Reading up close

A page to read slowly: the words under the pointer grow larger and fuller, as if under a lens, or fan open like the leaves of a notepad riffled with the thumb; and words explained by a paper ribbon unrolling above them.

The page to rewrite

The crumpled sheet that smooths out and can be read, for those who write drafts; and a fresh-ink signature blotted dry at the end of a letter.

Chapters, pared back

The table of contents of a long story that follows the reader and moves the chapters already read to the bottom, and the line that opens a chapter running along a curve; and a clothbound book that opens and turns its pages as you scroll.

More to read

The button that loads more stories at the bottom of the page while the yo-yo sleeps, and the one that saves the article for later with a bookmark ribbon; and a recipe saved for later with a wooden clothespin clipping its tag, then a magazine’s «Read the essay», whose lines justify into a block.

Listen and subscribe, clean

For writers with a podcast or a newsletter too: the episode with a wave made of lines and the email field on a plucked string.

Listening

The player of a web radio or a podcast as a vintage valve radio to switch on and tune; and a song line with the karaoke ball bouncing from syllable to syllable.

Leaving the newsletter

Leaving can be gentle too: the leaf that comes off and drifts down.

Searching the archive, kept clean

For a journal or a blog with a pared-back look: the search that finishes the word while you type it.

Between pages, pared back

The page change of a blog or an archive: the lines running into a teleprinter tape and opening again on the new page, or the draft proofread in red pen, struck through and rewritten from the caret, or flow lines that start from the click and cover the page; or a letter’s stem that grows and opens into the new page.
